This Comedian-Magician Put On a Show With a Surprising Ending
Carl loved magic since he was a kid. The first time his grandma made a bottle cap disappear in her hands, Carl realized what he would want to be in the future. He graduated a magic school in Liseberg and started performing at the age of 12. He was the youngest member of Gothenburg Magic Club. At the age of 14 Carl won the Nordic championship in table magic. He was a Champion for 5 years in a row. He has also won the Nordic championship in card magic in 1984 and 1987, first prize in stage magic in 1986 and 1987. In 1988 Carl won the variety category in the New Faces competition. At the age of 20 Carl-Einar debuts with his combination of stand-up and magic. From there he started appearing in comedy clubs and on TV shows in Sweden and Germany. Carl even won newspaper Aftonbladet’s competition for Sweden’s sexiest man. In 1992 he played a part in ‘House of Angels’, movie screened in the US, Canada and other countries. The same year Carl became a columnist for Metallarbetaren union magazine, he still works with it. In 1994 Carl-Einar was Awarded the Swedish Comedy Association’s ‘Funniest Swede of the Year’.
